Go Gecko Bundaberg celebrated their 1st Birthday on 3rd July 2012. Celebrations occurred during the two hour live radio broadcast out the front of the office at 229 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg, Qld.
The office is located on Bundaberg’s main road and close to town which meant there were many people continuously passing by. The staff were able to mingle and chat with many previous clients, buyers, tenants and landlords as well as being able to introduce themselves to some new faces.
To reign in the day they had the local radio station 93.9 HITZFM doing their morning show direct from their office and also had a water dunking machine set up, in which members of the public had the opportunity to “dunk a real estate agent” – something possibly many people had been dreaming of for quite some time.
There was a lolly guessing competition, giveaways for the kids, the Gecko waving down the traffic, Go Gecko cupcakes made from The Cheesecake Shop and the Bingera Weir Rural Fire Brigade cooking up a storm with a free breaky All donations raised on the day went back to the brigade.
A few weeks before their birthday they contacted the local schools and gave them a “decorate a gecko” task to complete. The winning child of Bundaberg North State School walked away with a $500 SportsPower voucher for their school and a smaller voucher for them from Toys R Us.
The week before their birthday an advertisement was run in the local real estate section of the newspaper inviting everyone down to celebrate. A clear message highlighted the huge savings in commissions made to the residents of Bundaberg.
They are now getting ready to plan their 2nd birthday!!
